100m Hurdles Final At The World Athletics Championships in Budapest,Hungary 2023:The dethronement of Tobi Amusan.

Disappointment for Tobi Amusan and Nigeria as the current World Record holder was dethroned by Beijin 2015 champion,Danielle Williams of Jamaica who clinched the title after clocking 12.43 seconds ahead of Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico who won silver with 12.44 seconds, while Keni Harrison took the bronze in 12.46 seconds.

Tobi, the sensational track and field athlete who was cleared of all charges and whose ban was lifted just few days before the championship has had difficult times in the last few months leading to the competition due to doping allegations which could be linked to her coming sixth in the competition.

The sprinter was provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) back in July after missing three drug tests within a year and had her name omitted from 26-athlete team submitted by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) for the competition.

Tobi Amusan who has successfully defended Nigeria,African Championships,African games, Commonwealth games and Diamond League titles could not defend the World Championship title.

Congratulations to Danielle Williams.
