Two female Nigerian athletes have advised women in sports to remain positive and continue to excel in their chosen fields.

As the world celebrates International women’s day on March 8, the athletes commended women for positive impacts made in sports.

One of them, Blessing Oborodudu, an Olympic games silver medalist in wrestling, said she is proud of women who have done well in sports.

Oborodudu, a member of Team Nigeria in the 13th African games, said she is Ghana to win the gold medal.

“Am aware of the opposition that i will meet in Ghana, but am here to win the gold medal. I will work hard to make a podium performance and win the gold medal, ” she said. She competes in the 68kg category.

Odunayo Adekuoroye is another member of team Nigeria in the African games.

She is a Commonwealth games gold medalist and seven times African champion in the 57kg of Wrestling.

“I take every tournament as it comes. Am always positive and focused in what i want to achieve. My ambition is to win gold medal for team Nigeria,” she said.
