Paris, France – Women’s world champions, Spain, Germany, USA and Brazil on Saturday qualified for semi finals of the 2024 Olympic women’s soccer event
To qualify, Brazil defeated hosts France 1-0, USA beat Japan, also by a lone goal, Spain came from 2-0 down to beat Colombia 4-2 on penalties after both teams drew 2-2 after extra time.
Germany also won 4-2 on penalties against Canada. Both had drawn 0-0 after extra time
Winners will meet for the Gold medal on 10 August while the third-place match will be held a day before.
African representatives, Zambia and Nigeria, were knocked out in the group stage.
