Former Director-General of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant for Delta South, Sir Itiako Malik Ikpokpo, KSM, has called on his supporters to put aside any grievances arising from the recently concluded APC primary elections and unite behind the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing members of his political family during a meeting at his country home in Uro-Irri, Ikpokpo acknowledged that the primary elections were not without shortcomings and unresolved concerns. However, he stressed that the time had come for party members to close ranks and work collectively toward securing victory for the APC in the general elections.

“The forthcoming general elections are consequential to deepening our nation’s democratic credentials and electing bold, courageous leaders with the competence and political will to bridge the governance gap associated with our nation’s sixty-six-year trajectory. I firmly believe that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori represents such leadership,” he said.

Ikpokpo urged his supporters to redirect their energy toward grassroots mobilization, emphasizing that the party’s success in 2027 would depend on unity, commitment, and sustained engagement with the electorate.

“Friends and associates, I earnestly seek your understanding and support as we prepare for the campaign for the re-election of our President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori; and all other candidates of our great party,” he stated.

“As a demonstration of our commitment to securing a resounding victory for our party, we will, in the coming weeks, take the APC’s Renewed Hope for More Agenda message to our communities and wards across Delta South senatorial district and the state at large. Everyone of us has a vital role to play in ensuring victory for our party.”

According to Ikpokpo, the APC remains the most viable platform for delivering sustainable development and good governance.

“Our party, the APC, remains the most viable platform, and I am convinced that its policies and programmes will better reposition our state and our country if entrusted once again with the mandate of the people in 2027,” he said.

Ikpokpo reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to working with party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters across Delta State to ensure a resounding APC victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
