In an effort to ensure the re-elect of Gov. Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun in the forthcoming governorship election, three top chieftains of the All Progressive Congress (APC) have stressed the need for the party to retained power comes July 16.

They are Gov. Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Gov. Abdullahi Gaduje of Kano State and the APC, National Secretary, Sen. Iyiola Omisore.

The trio were in Osogbo on Monday to further support the governor toward the success of the party in Osun.

The party’s national secretary, Sen. Omisore, said the visit was to show unity of purpose and commitment in winning the governorship election.

Omisore said the party would be going round the state to campaign, unlike other political parties which had adopted a one way approach.

Also, Gov. Ganduje of Kano State said there would be an overwhelming victory for APC in the coming election.

“We were here three years ago for an election which we won even though it was inconclusive on the first ballot.

“Also, what I have seen, this time around, there will be an overwhelming victory for APC in this coming election,” he said.

According to him, the trio are here to support, encourage and create an enabling environment for the state to vote Oyetola.

Ganduje, therefore, appealed to electorate to ensure landslide victory for the APC comes July 16.

Earlier, Gov. Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, said the party would have bigger rallies which would further confirmed that APC is on ground in Osun.

“We are not here just to win but win big as a precursor to bigger election that is coming up in 2023.

“Oyetola has impressed us as a party and more of our colleagues are still coming even from today in solidarity,” he said.

According to him, there is the need to come and support the governor because it is proper, fit, right and to also feel the mood of the state.

“We have been inside and out of the rain and we have seen a tremendous crowd, from the traditional rulers, trade unions, and even religious leaders throwing weight behind Oyetola to be reelected.”

Sanwo-Olu, however, said it was a test for better things to happen before the presidential rally.

The governor and other party officials were at Okuku to campaign and seek support for his re-election comes July 16.
