Irede Foundation and CFAO Yamaha Motors have partnered to empower two child amputees in Lagos.

The Executive Director of Irede foundation, Crystal Chigbu, said in a statement on Monday that the event saw the successful handover of the duo’s Joint Limb Empowerment and School Based Advocacy Project on Thursday in Lagos.

Chigbu said that the partnership was a collaborative effort to empower champions (child amputees) with prosthetic limbs which allowed them to live a self- sufficient life.

She added that the partnership was leveraged to raise awareness on disability for over 500 children through the distribution of IREDIANS ( a disability- focused comic book) towards a more inclusive and supportive environment.

According to her, the partnership has helped to promote the inclusion of Persons With Disability (PWDs) thus helping to reduce societal stigma.

“The partnership has served as a source of hope and inspiration for champions Princess and Enitan, helping them live their lives to the fullest.

“Additionally, it provided an avenue to promote behavioural change by educating 500 students at Isolo Senior High School on disability,” Chigbu said.

She urged everyone to keep spreading the foundation’s message of hope and extends their hands to those who needs it most.

“Together we can build a more inclusive and supportive society where champions can thrive and reach their full potential,” Chigbu said.

Also commenting, Ms Tolulope Ojabodu, Senior Marketing Officer. CFAO Yamaha Motors, expressed gratitude to the Irede team, while stressing the importance of the partnership.

Ojabodu applauded the efforts of the foundation in educating children on disability and also providing them with ease of mobility, independence and accessibility to go back to school.

She expressed the commitment of the company ‘s team to do more with the Irede foundation.

“We look forward to doing more with the Irede Foundation.

“Education should not stop to limit stigmatization.

“Well done Irede Foundation,” said the CFAO Yamaha Motors team.
