Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has called on the Christian leaders in Nigeria and Africa to tolerate one another and avoid religious sentiments.
Tinubu spoke when she received a delegation of the leadership of the Africa Biblical Leadership Initiative (ABLI) recently in Abuja.
The delegation was led by a formal Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (Rtd.)
The General Secretary/CEO of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Pastor Samuel Sanusi and others were also among the delegation.
The visit was to sensitise the First Lady to the upcoming conference of ABLI scheduled for October. 2024.
Tinubu said that Africa needs a lot of prayer at this time and African leaders need to work together to address all the challenges facing the continent.
“I believe that if we don’t relent and continue to speak, because the voice of the devil is always very loud, we cannot be intimidated and try to do the best that we can because this govt is not hostile to the Christian faith; we came about because of the challenge and the demand of our time,” Tinubu said.
Also Speaking, Gowon said that the youth conference has been integrated into the main programme with the theme “Arise and Shine” with the value of raising a new generation of transformational leaders, and carefully selected resource persons.
Also, Prof. Jerry Gana commended the government on its reforms because “if we sustain it there will be a transformation because societies are changed through values.”
