Man, 28, Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing Bluetooth mp3 Device

A 28-year-old man, Stephen Ezebunanwa, was on Thursday arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing seven cartons of Bluetooth mp3 device.

The defendant is standing trial on a one-count charge of stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge before the Magistrate, Mrs D.S Odukoya.

The prosecutor, Insp. Esther Adesulu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 23 at the Alaba area of Ojo.

According to the charge, the defendant was alleged to have stolen the cartons of mp3 Bluetooth device belonging to one Bright Eze represented by one Osita Uduh.

The Bluetooth is worth N1.05 million.

The alleged offence contravened the provisions of section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Aug. 16 for trial.

In a related development, a 38-year-old man, Seyi Lawal, was on Thursday charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N394, 350 being the proceed of sales made from his employer ‘s bottled Water Company, to his personal use.

The defendant, a sales representative who resides at 15, Williams St., Awodegun Drive, Scheme 1 Estate, Oko Oba, Lagos is tried for stealing and conversion.

The prosecutor, Insp. Segun Oke told the court that the offence was committed on June 23 at 15, Awodeyi St., Scheme 1, Estate, Oko Oba, Agege, Lagos.

Oke said that the defendant diverted N394, 350 from proceed of sales to his personal use. 

The prosecutor also said that the defendant works with Charlie bottle Water Company, owned by Mr Muyiwa Ogunlaja. 

The offences according to the prosecutor contravened section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M. C Ayinde granted the defendant to bail of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Ayinde adjourned the case until July 27 for mention.
