Enugu, Nigeria – A two-time Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Eugene Odo, has commended Gov. Peter Mbah for flagging-off the dualisation of Ugwuogo Nike – Opi Nsukka road.

The former Speaker also appreciated Mbah for his developmental strides and plans for the Enugu North senatorial zone.

Odo stated this on Tuesday while interacting with journalists in Enugu, saying the dualisation of Ugwuogo Nike – Opi Nsukka road would, among others, remain a legacy project for Mbah’s administration.

According to him, beyond enhancing effective security, the road would boost tourism, social and economic development of the Enugu North zone and the entire state.

While noting that the people of the zone are very happy with the cheering news of the road construction, he stressed that the governor, through the project, will ensure a free flow of traffic, thereby curbing security problems on the road.

“We are not insensitive to other high impact developmental strides initiated and some concluded to boost the state’s economy and improve the quality of life of the people. Some of these projects includes:

“The completion of 71 roads in Enugu metropolis and the recent award of over 80 new road construction projects across the state are designed to enhance transportation and connectivity.

“The building of Smart Schools and Type-2 hospital in all 260 wards of the state will integrate technology into education, enhancing learning and quality health care in rural areas.

“Provision of clean water to residents will also improve the health and well-being of Enugu residents”, the former Speaker noted.

Odo pointed out that the projects demonstrate the governor’s commitment to transforming Enugu State into a hub for economic growth and development.

Odo, who is also a legal practitioner, extolled Mbah for using their own catchment reputable construction company, COMAG Nig LTD., to execute the Ugwuogo Nike-Opi Nsukka dual carriage way.
