Enugu, Nigeria – The New Enugu State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Elijah Willie, has assured the protection of lives and critical national infrastructures in the state.
Willie gave the assurance at the NSCDC command headquarters in Enugu, while taking over from the outgoing Head of command, now Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Cyprian Ehi Otoibhi.
The command witnessed a significant transition of leadership as Willie officially assumed as the State Commandant, succeeding the Otoibhi.
The new commandant added that his vision for the command would further enhance its operations and activities in the state.
“My leadership will bring a wealth of experience to enhance operations, protect lives and critical national infrastructure in the state,” Willie said.
In handing over to Willie, Otoibhi expressed confidence in the smooth transition of leadership.
The new Assistant Commandant General, while introducing the principal staff of the command to Willie, expressed his appreciation to their dedication and service, pledging collaboration and continuity.
He also took the new Commandant on an extensive tour of the Command’s offices and facilities and briefed him on the status of various operational assets under the command’s custody to ensure a seamless transition of authority.
The officials later visited the various departments of the organization, including the Public Relations Departments, Administration, Intelligence, Health Services, Operations, and Disaster Management, impounded trucks and other vehicles under the command’s custody.
The event was marked by the signing of the official documents and the ceremonial presentation of the NSCDC flag by the outgoing head to Willie, symbolising the transfer of command and responsibility.
