As the vast majority of the political class continues to push for the extension of the deadline for the deposit of the old naira notes, Nigerian singer and half-brother of the Psquare duo, Peter Okoye, has said Nigerians now know the forces trying to force the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) out of office.

Okoye stated this on the heels of the criticisms of the new naira policy of the apex bank which was further echoed by the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.

Persecondnews had reported that Tinubu, who during his campaign in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Wednesday, berated the policy, describing it as a ploy to sabotage his presidential ambition.

Okoye, in a post on Twitter, stated that it was now clear to Nigerians why some people are after Emefiele by demanding his arrest for his alleged involvement in terrorism.

Per Seconds News reports that the CBN governor had insisted that there will be no extension of the January 31 deadline.

But the Speaker, the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, had threatened to issue a warrant for the arrest of the CBN governor for ignoring summons by the House.

“Nigerians now know who is after Emefiele,” Okoye said.
