The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says the report obtained by a media platform of an incident of an alleged assault of a female passenger at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja recently, is not true.
Mrs Faithful A. Hope-Ivbaze, Ag General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN in a statement said that although there was a misunderstanding between the passenger and AVSEC officials concerning compliance with airport security protocols.
According to her, the matter has been resolved upon investigation.
Hope-Ivbaze explained that the lady was not physically assaulted at any time, adding that her tweet of rebuttal on January 19, 2023 was an attestation.
The passenger went down due to a prior health condition and was attended to promptly by the FAAN medical team, as well as escorted until she left the airport on her own terms.
“We are glad to hear further that the passenger is well and good.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria will continue to deliver quality services to her esteemed customers, within the confines of standard facilitation practices,” she said.
