Why Kanu moves to uplift Enyimba stadium players’ camp

Aba, July 24, 2023 – Spurred by the spirit of to win as in his playing days, the newly appointed Chairman of Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba, Ambassador Kanu ‘Papilo’ Nwankwo has swiftly began moves that will ensure that the Elephants of Aba will once again be a force to reckon with not just in the NPL but Africa as well.

One of these moves took place today Monday July 24, 2023 as the new Sporting Director of the 2022/22 NPL Champions, Ifeanyi Ekwueme on the instance of the Club Chairman, undertook an inspection tour of the Enyimba Int’l Stadium, home ground of the two time CAF Champions League Champions.

Reacting shortly after the inspection where he was ably guided round the facilities, including the players camp by Mr Ndubuisi Ofoma, former Enyimba board member and incoming Stadium Manager, the former Super Eagles winger said;
“As you can see am here on the instance of Papilo himself to get a first hand information on the state of the facilities in the Stadium, especially the stadium environment and the players camp.

“My observation is that the facilities needs urgent upliftment to meet the standard practice especially as we prepare for this seasons league and CAF Champions League games.

“I have equally noted other very important issues that needs attention and will make recommendations to the Chairman for immediate attention.

“As we all know, Enyimba FC is a house hold name globally and deserves best global practices including our facilities and these also includes the players camp which I believe needs upliftment to ensure that the players are comfortable enough to be ready for optimum performance.

Recall that Kanu “Papilo” Nwankwo recently met with the Secretary to the State Government SSG, Prof Kenneth Kalu, the State Commissioner for Sports & Youth Development, Hon Nwaobilor Nwadimma Ananaba as well as the Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba,PhD on his return from London where he was well acquainted with the Governor’s plan to use sports to ensure that youths of the state are liberated and empowered.

Others who joined the Sports Director on the inspection visit includes; Enyimba FC legends, Ndidi Anumunu, Chigbo Ofor, PA to the Sporting Director, Chukwuemeka Flyod, Members of the Sports Counsil and the clubs Camp Commandant.the stadium environment and the players camp.
