In his spirit of ``no victor, all vangished'' Hon. Austine Meregini, the Umuahia East State Constituency, Abia House of Assembly member-elect of the Labour Party (LP) has visited his closest opponent, Sir Innocent Nwachukwu of the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

The lawmaker elect visited Nwachukwu in his country home in Umuohu Okpula,  Ndume Ibeku, Umuahia.

The visit which is described by many political watchers as a worthwhile effort by the newly elected House member, is aimed at brokering a fresh vista of convivial atmosphere for partnership as well as a synergy with Nwachukwu.

Speaking, the House member elect praised Nwachukwu for his sterling and towering qualities.
Meregini also described Nwachukwu as an amiable and genial personality with a rare can-do-spirit who has demonstrated enough capacity, desire and will to effect desirable changes in the constituency.
He added that Nwachukwu is an indispensable political Hercules whose political fame  reverberates across the length and breadth of Abia state.

The elected House member, called on Nwachukwu to join hands to anchor the Umuahia East Constituency firmly on a new pedestal of economic recovery and development.

In an exhilarating response, Nwachukwu expressed happiness for the show of humility and love  by the House member elect, describing him as a man of good conscience devoid of self conceit and arrogant behaviour.

He averred that his foray into politics is to defend the right of `Ndume Otuka' people and to ensure that the gains of a  representative government are evenly distributed without marginalisation.

Nwachukwu promised to partner with the elected member and espouse any positive developmental ideas that will have direct bearing in the lives of  Umuahia East people.

He applauded Meregini and his team for the visit while he prayed God to endow him with more wisdom to carry out his duties effectively.
