I extend my warmest and most respectful greetings to our distinguished leaders, esteemed delegates, and committed stakeholders of our great party, the African Democratic Congress, as we converge in the nation’s capital, Abuja, for this historic National Convention.

Today is not just about an election—it is about destiny. It is about making decisions that will define the strength, credibility, and future of our party at a time when Nigerians are in dire need of purposeful and people-oriented leadership.

As we prepare to elect new National Executives, let us remember that leadership is not a reward, but a responsibility. The mandate we give today must be based on integrity, competence, loyalty to the party, and a clear vision for national transformation. This is a moment that demands sincerity, courage, and unity of purpose.

The eyes of Nigerians are on us. From every ward to every state, there is a growing expectation that the African Democratic Congress will rise as a disciplined, credible, and people-driven alternative. We must not disappoint.

Let us rise above personal interests and stand firmly for the collective good. Let this convention send a strong message across Nigeria—that ADC is organized, united, and ready to lead with clarity and conviction.

From Ifako-Ijaiye to every corner of our nation, the call is clear—we must build a party that listens, a party that includes, and a party that delivers.

As we cast our votes today, let history record that we chose wisely, acted boldly, and placed the future of our party above all else.

Together, we will emerge stronger, more united, and fully prepared to take our rightful place in shaping the future of Nigeria.

Hon. Shodipo Idera (Idesky) is of Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency, Lagos.
