Afriland Properties Appoints Ayobami-Ojo As Director

Mrs Iyabode Ayobami-Ojo, Independent Non-Executive Director

​‌‍‌⁠⁠‍⁠⁠‌‍‌​​‌‌​‌‌​Afriland Properties Plc has appointed Mrs Iyabode Ayobami-Ojo as an Independent Non-Executive Director, strengthening its board with extensive industry experience.

The company disclosed the appointment in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos.

Ayobami-Ojo brings more than three decades of experience spanning real estate, business services, corporate governance and institutional development.

She joined the board after a distinguished career at NNPC Ltd., where she rose to become Managing Director of NNPC Properties Ltd.

She provided strategic leadership in repositioning NNPC Properties, strengthening governance and improving commercial performance.

Ayobami-Ojo also helped optimise asset value while supporting sustainable growth within the organisation.

She previously held several leadership positions, including Director of NNPC Academy and Executive Director, Business Services, NNPC Trading Ltd.

She also served as Head of Stakeholder and Relationship Management in the Corporate Communications Division and General Manager, External Relations.

The new independent non-executive director, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Arts from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Azubike Emodi, Managing Director of Afriland Properties, said her expertise would strengthen the board.

“Her track record of leading transformation and strengthening institutions will be particularly valuable as we continue to execute our strategy,” Emodi said.

He said her experience would support efforts to grow the company’s portfolio and create sustainable value for stakeholders.

Emodi added that the appointment underscored Afriland Properties’ commitment to strong corporate governance, board effectiveness and experienced leadership.

He said the company would continue strengthening its position within Nigeria’s evolving real estate sector.
