Kano Pillars forward and former Super Eagles of Nigeria Captain, Ahmed Musa has showered praise on his team mates for their remarkable resilience and fighting Spirit, after the club narrowly avoided relegation from the Nigeria Premier football league (NPFL), in a tense conclusion to the 2035 / 26 season.
Despite suffering a 1 : 0 away loss to Plateau United FC at the New Job Stadium on Sunday, the four time Nigerian Football league champion popularly known as Sai Masu Gifs managed to retain their top flight status.
The defeat did not undo their survival hope as they finished the campaign in 15th position with 48 points from 38 matches, enough to stay above the relegation zone in a tightly contested bottom half of the table.
In a heart-felt appreciation message, Musa acknowledged the difficult start to the season that saw the team struggle for form and consistency but he insisted that collective chatacter and determination turned things around.
Despite our slow and unfamiliar start to the season, our darling club, Kano Pillars FC showed resilience, character and determination to retain the NPFL status for another season, Musa said.
The veteran also took time to thank the club supporters and football stake holders in Kano State, whose backing he credited as crucial to the team”s survival.
This achievement would not have been possible without the un-wavering support, prayers, and encouragement from the good people of of Kano State and football lovers across the country, Musa added.
Ahmed Musa’s leadership and the teams late season resolve ensured that the famous blue and white jersey will remain in Nigeria’s top division for another year.
