Ambrose Okoh now General Manager News, Current Affairs, Channels TV

Mr Ambrose Okoh has been promoted to the position of General Manager, News and Current Affairs of Channels Television with effect from January 1, 2024.

Okoh who is a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), until his elevation, was Controller of Programmes at the multiple-award-winning station.

Known for his thoroughness and nose for news, Okoh joined Channels TV in November 1996.

A 1990 graduate of Bendel State University, now Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, he began his career in journalism with the Guardian Newspaper in 1993 and joined Channels Television three years later in 1996

He brought along his wealth of experience from The Guardian Foreign Desk and has worked variously in Channels Television as a Reporter and News Correspondent.

Okoh later earned himself the sobriquet “General”, in his capacity as Controller of News and has played a critical role in the establishment of Channels Television Bureaus in some parts of the country.

Okoh also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the Lagos State University (LASU). He has attended various training programmes and courses in journalism both in Nigeria and overseas.

Others promoted at the station include Kingsley Uranta (from Assistant General Manager, Operations to General Manager, Channels Academy); Patrick Obuseh from AGM International Operations to GM, Operations; Barr. Adeola Olumeyan, from Assistant General Counsel to General Counsel; Foluso Oluwafemi from Head, Human Resources to AGM, Human Resources. Others are Louis Eke from Assistant Controller, News to Controller, News; Aderonke Raji from Assistant Controller, News to Controller, News; Adejoke Rogers from Senior Editor/Head of Presentation to Assistant Controller, News; and Chamberlain Usoh, Deputy Editor/Ag Station Manager, Abuja to Editor/Station Manager, Abuja.
