American Corner/Lagos NUJ trains Journalists in video editing skill

Over 80 journalists drawn from various media organisations participated at a 3-day Video Editing training organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, in collaboration with American Corner.

!08scoop.com reports that the training which was held from March 27 to March 29, 2023, is aimed at providing journalists with the opportunity to get acquainted in video editing skills.

In his remarks, Mr Adeleye Ajayi, Chairman of the Lagos State Council said the training is part of the Council’s commitment towards equipping Lagos journalists with the necessary skills to help them discharge their duties professionally.

Ajayi explained that training and retraining journalists is important to the success of the profession.

The chairman, who described Lagos State as the Centre of Journalism in Nigeria, said journalists in the state should be seen to be working the talk.



According to him, more than 450 members of Lagos NUJ benefitted from the Google NewsLab Training.

“Also, 29 members participated in the Nigeria Customs Training for Maritime reporters and some senior editors, while some Council members attended the training,” he said.
