Ànnaba (Ageria), July 25, 2025. Nigeria appears to be one of the few lucky countries that have faced fewer hassles in reaching Ànnaba, Algeria, venue of the ongoing ANOCA-organised maiden African Schools’ Sports.

Thanks to the National Sports Commission (NSC), Team Nigeria was transported via a Charter Flight aboard an Algerian Airliner to Ànnaba, Algeria.

This is the opposite of the experience of the South Sudanese team that arrived in Algiers and spent over 10 hours connecting to Ànnaba.

The Zimbabwe Leader of Delegation, Newman Domendo, who arrived ahead of his team, said he spent 15 hours reaching Ànnaba from Algiers.

”This included waiting before securing a bus to connect to Ànnaba.

I will struggle to ensure that I reduce considerably the same burden in my team, yet to arrive in À(nnaba. I have been meeting all relevant officials to try to take care of anticipated problems.

The University of El Bono Hostel, Ànnaba, Algeria, currently serves as the Games Village — the school offering multiple languages – German, Arabic, Russian and Spanish.

The Games Village is situated on a hilly spot, and the undulating landscape creates a beautiful arena and a fantastic environment.

Close by the language school is an Algerian Medical School, too.

Meanwhile, the Swimming team will move their base to another city where they will play Beach Volleyball.
