APC re-elects Okoro-Emegha as chairman in Ebonyi state

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi state on Tuesday, re-elected Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha as the state Chairman of the party.

The APC at its state congress held in Abakaliki, also re-elected Mr Chinedu Nwali as its Deputy Chairman and Chief Charles Ofoke as state party Secretary.

The party also re- elected other 30 State Working Committee (SWC) members for a second term in office in a consensus arrangement in line with its constitution.

The consensus arrangement was adopted through a motion moved by the Deputy Senate Whip, Onyekachi Nwebonyi and seconded by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Moses Odunwa.

Governor Francis Nwifuru, in his remarks, commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership qualities which he attributed to the stability within the party.

“These qualities have prepared the party for an irrevocable.victory in the 2027 general elections.

“I commend leaders and stakeholders of the party in the state for their confidence in the SWC under the leadership of Okoro–Emegha.

“I also thank our state and National Assembly lawmakers for uniting under the APC as those from opposing parties have joined the party,.”

The re-elected State Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, on behalf of the 36 SWC members, thanked Nwifuru and party stakeholders for their confidence in the SWC.

“We pledge to advance, project and protect the interests of the governor, leaders and members of the party in the state.”

Chairman of the APC State Congress Electoral Committe, Mrs. Rita Maduagwu, said the consensus arrangement complied with the constitution of the party.

Maduagwu who was a Former Speaker of the Anambra House of Assembly said the exercise was peaceful and credible.

“One could feel the unity within the party in Ebonyi and this projects it for a landslide in the 2027 general elections.”

Several stakeholders of the party hailed the unity within the party, acknowledging the sacrifices made to ensure such oneness.
