
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Candidate for Ebonyi North Senatorial district Chief Chikaodili Ojimba has urged party members to remain cam and peaceful despite the killing of its supporter, Mr Onwe Ubochi.
Ubochi was killed by unidentified persons after participating in an event organised by APGA in the area, on August 17.
Ojimba made the plea while speaking with newsmen on Friday, noting that he led the party’s leaders on a condolence visit to Ubochi”s family at Umuogudu Oshia, Ngbo in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state
The senatorial candidate described the killing as unfortunate noting that alongside the family, everything would be done to pursue justice.
“The party faithful should be calm and law abiding as we the trust the abilities of the state government and security agencies to unravell the killers.
“The grief is not only borne by the family but all of us and tiogether, we shall get justice for the bereaved,”.
He urged security agencies to expedite actions on unmasking Ubochi’s killers, noting that his death is painful to the family and APGA n the state.
“This is a call for decisive action from security agencies as t is very pathetic that a man of that age would die under such circumstances.
“Those responsible for such dastardly act must be identified through a thorough investigation and be prosecuted,”.
Ojimba noted that the party would support the family in its trying period and beyond as they should understand that they are not alone.
“APGA is a peaceful and law abiding party which appraches issues lawfully and not through violence,”.
The Ebonyi police command also issued a statement confirming the incident and also, the commencement of investigations into it.
