Atiku Abubakar has appointed Omega Odunze as his Special Assistant for Community Mobilisation in the South-East zone.
This move signals Atiku’s focus on the South-East before the 2027 presidential polls.
According to Atiku Media Office, the appointment takes effect from April 1, 2026.
Odunze will drive grassroots engagement and expand community outreach across the region.
This role aims to deepen support for Atiku’s vision of national unity and development.
Odunze hails from Imo State and leads Khaimaenergy Ltd as its CEO. He brings years of experience in humanitarian work and peacebuilding to the team.
He has completed key consultancy roles with CARE International and Mercy Corps. These previous roles involved managing complex community health and conflict resolution projects.
In his new capacity, Odunze will oversee mobilisation efforts across the five South-East states. He will work directly with zonal and local government coordinators to sharpen the campaign’s reach.
Additionally, he must engage with traditional rulers, faith-based groups, and youth organisations.
In response to regional needs, he will build strong partnerships to promote inclusive political participation.
