President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Federal Government Slowly Announces The Postponement Of The January 16, 2027, Presidential Election, With A New Date To Be Revealed Any Moment From Now,
Top Aso Rock Intelligence Source Admits That The APC Leadership Has Secretly Passed A “Vote Of No Confidence” On Their 2027 Presidential Candidate (Bola), And May Need More Time To Reorganise
The attention of “Atiku Is For The People” global movement, has on Tuesday morning, been drawn to the statement credited to the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Dr. Jide Idris, in a Daily Post report, dated October 26, 2026, suggesting that the 2027 general elections may be considered for postponement, if the Ebola outbreak spreads widely.
In the report, Dr. Idris however, clarified that as at now, there is no need for postponement, and that Health issues will not be used as a political weapon; but we cannot be fooled by this tactic.
We are deeply alarmed, but not surprised by this latest suggestion from the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Government, and we believe, just like millions of Nigerians had believed and predicted last week, that the recently announced Ebola outbreak in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, could be used as a decoy to buy time for the very unprepared and rejected APC and its 2027 Presidential Candidate, to postpone the January 16, 2027, Presidential election.
All credible political indicators and public sentiments across the country, show that President Tinubu will be defeated by the 2027 Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in the 2027 polls; and therefore, any move to shift the election timetable under the guise of a health emergency, will be unacceptable and heavily resisted by millions of Nigerians that continue to declare daily that “TINUBU MUST GO”.
We wish to state categorically, that we reject in totality, any move or consideration to postpone the 2027 general elections, for any reason related to Ebola.
Nigeria has in the past, successfully managed Ebola, COVID-19 and Lassa Fever outbreaks, without postponing general elections. The current situation would not be an exception.
We hereby, call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that the suggestion of election postponement is nipped in the bud, and that no public health situation is allowed to become a decoy to shift the 2027 elections.
The 2027 elections must hold as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in accordance with the 1999 Constitution, as amended, and the Electoral Act 2026. Nigerians have already made up their minds, and are waiting for the polls, to exercise their democratic right. Any attempt to use the outbreak as a justification to alter the timetable, will be strongly resisted by Nigerians.
We also call on the Federal Government to channel the approved N10 billion intervention fund and all necessary resources, to contain the outbreak through effective surveillance, contact tracing and treatment, as outlined by the NCDC; rather than contemplating an election postponement; and urge INEC to publicly reaffirm that the 2027 election calendar remains intact, with immediate effect, to douse the nationwide tension this announcement may cause.
