Abakaliki, Nigeria – The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Capital City Development, Chief Sunday Inyima, says the rate of construction of the “Eternal Brothers Club headquarters” in Abakaliki, can only be described as a miracle and not magic.

Inyima, popularly known as “Agbalagba” in the Ebonyi political and social circles, made the remarks on Wednesday, when members of the club undertook an inspection of the multi-million naira project situated at the Obama area of Abakaliki.

The commissioner, who is the Duke of the club’s Board of Trustees (BOT), said that the Club’s President and all those saddled with the responsibility of delivering the project, have done marvellously well.

“Someone told me that what we have witnessed here is magic but I told him that it is pure miracle.

“This is because miracle is greater than magic as the job is commendable in all ramifications.

“All those involved in this construction have passed the required tests and this gladdens our hearts.”

He noted that his assessment is based on experience as a technical person involved in buildings in the capital city.

“We are ready to make more contributions towards the project because we are utmosly impressed.

“I commend the president because he has a large heart and has delegated the work to others instead of being involved in its financial dealings.”

The State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Richard Idike, also poured encomiums on those handling the project, noting that the rapid rate of construction motivates the members.

Idike, who is the Chairman of the club’s BOT identified selection of the right people as the key to the project’s success.

“I commend the club’s president because it is difficult to handle public funds and still get it right.

“You must have been hearing many things but be resolute and ensure that the work is moving.”

He thanked members for their contributions towards the project and other engagements of the club despite the prevailing harsh economic conditions.

The Club President, Charles Akpu-enika, thanked the members for honouring the invitation to inspect the project, noting that it will enable them see where their funds are going.

“By the grace of God, this edifice would be opulence personified and will be the best in the town.

“We would have about 10 rooms, a hall among other facilities that would generate funds for the club.”

He said that the occasion would enable the club re-launch its constitution.

The members toured the imposing edifice, admiring its architectural attraction while making salient observations.
