Corps members are integral part of our RIVERS FIRST’ Agenda”- Fubara assures

The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured corps members that they rank high and are integral part of the Rivers First Agenda of his administration.

Fubara said this at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area (LGA) during the swearing in ceremony of the 2026 Batch B Stream II orientation course.

The governor represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Promise Oguzie, charged the corps members to be role models and quality nation-builders in their service to Rivers state and Nigeria.

“I re-assure the corps members of my administration’s intentional commitment to your welfare and security at all times,”

The State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe charged the corps members to be comitted and resurceful in the course of their service.

“You should see your deployment to Rivers State as a veritable opportunity to make meaningful contribution to the growth of the state in particular and Nigeria at large.

“I further charge you to serve with all sense of ntegrity, discipline and the fear of God, especially when engaged as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ad-hoc staff for the 2027 general elections.”

Oleghe appealed to the governor to approve the release of funds for the immediate commencement of the 1000-capacity hostel each for male and female corps members as promised.

A total of 3, 584 corps members made up of 1,421 males and 2,163 females were sworn in by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, represented by Justice Godspower Aguma.

The corps members successfully took the oath of allegiance during the ceremony.
