Gov. Bassey Otu of Cross River State has resumed duty after a three-week vacation that took effect on March 11.

His first assignment upon resumption is the national assignment entrusted to him as the Chairman of the gubernatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra.

According to a statement by Nsa Gill,
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Otu, arrived in Awka on April 4 for the primary billed for April 5.

The governor also confirmed the cancellation of the two-week leave extension granted to him by the State House of Assembly.

Otu said, “The work at hand remains critical, and my commitment to moving Cross River forward takes precedence over any personal time away.

“The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Elvert Ayambem, has been duly informed of this decision, and we are back to driving the developmental agenda with renewed energy. I appreciate your prayers, support, and trust.

“Together, we will continue to build a prosperous Cross River State where everyone thrives,” the Governor said.
