The Abia State Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie Meregini has reiterated his commitment to serve the Umuahia East Constituency diligently.
Rt Hon. Austin Okezie Meregini popularly known as ‘Ugolee’ stated this at a Thanksgiving Session during a Holy Mass at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Ahieke Ndume Ibeku, Umuahia.
He expressed gratitude to God for leading him and other Labour Party candidates to victory during the last election in the state.
Meregini while stressing on the importance of Thanksgiving, urged his supporters and the public to remain faithful to God.
“Now that the elections are over, we must acknowledge and thank God Almighty for our success. Without Him, we would not have achieved victory.
“It is important to show gratitude to God and to the people whenever we have the opportunity. expressing gratitude to God for His favor increases our chances of receiving even more favor.
I thank you all and I humbly request your prayers as we move forward because we have a lot of work to do in this journey,” the Deputy Speaker said.
He acknowledged that without God Almighty their victory in the election would have been impossible.
“We must also appreciate all the individuals who contributed to our success.
“We should do something that they will appreciate in return, that is what I’m committed to”, the Deputy Speaker, who is representing Umuahia East Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly said.
He was accompanied by other distinguished Honourable members and supporters at the Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
The presiding priest urged the elected officers to ensure that there act in the Parliament should be at the interest of the masses.
