The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma have praised organisers of CARSPO 2026 for successfully hosting the four-day security conference ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the close of the event in Owerri on Thursday, Disu and Uzodimma commended Dr. Shina Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of Lenders Consult, for his organisation and professionalism.
108scoop.com reports that the conference ran from Sept. 21 to Sept. 24 at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre.
It focused on the theme, “Developing a Nigeria Police Roadmap for Effective Management of Security During Elections.”
The police praised Phillips for leading the organisation of the retreat. The event brought together serving police leaders, retired senior officers and former Inspectors-General of Police to discuss security plans for the 2027 polls.
Consequently, the retreat produced a six-pillar operational framework for election security, police sources said. The framework focuses on neutrality, preparedness, physical presence and institutional accountability.
