Abakaliki, Nigeria – The President General of Ebonyi South Diaspora Group, Barrister Oko Ewa Enyim, has said that Gov. Francis Nwifuru is actualising the dreams of Ebonyi founding fathers through his good governance.
Enyim, the Former Legal Adviser to the Afikpo North Local Government Area (LGA), made the assertio on Wednesday in Abakaliki, noting that Ebonyi people have a lot to cherish in its recently celebrated 28 years of creation and Nigeria’s 64th anniversary.
Enyim, also a former Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Afikpo North LGA, hailed the governor for his bravery and dedication towards delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
“This is in spite of the current economic situation in the country as the people have witnessed true empowerment that is unprecedented in the state.
“Today, Ebonyi people have been truly empowered to savour the true essence of human upliftment which is an attribute of good governance.
“From the political wards, local government areas to the state level, Ebonyi people have become millionaires overnight, something that has never been witnessed in the state’s annals.
“This gives a fulfilment to the dreams of our founding fathers who dreamt and worked towards attaining a state which citizens can truly feel belonged and call theirs.”
Enyim, the former Ebonyi state Legal Adviser, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, remarked that the outstanding performances of Gov. Nwifuru and his predecessors in office had placed Ebonyi high as a prosperous and peaceful state.
“Ebonyi people should truly celebrate the creation of the state, having played significant roles in shaping the nation’s history in the different fields of endeavour.
“Ebonyi citizens’ tireless efforts in seeking truth, holding leaders accountable, and amplifying voices, have been invaluable and stood them out among states of the federation.
“We acknowledge the challenges we face but are surely surmounting them because we are known for our dedication to duty, hard work and resilience in the face of adversities.”
He commended all the leaders of the state for supporting the governor in ensuring that peace, harmony, prosperity and economic development thrive, contrary to the chaos being witnessed in some other states of the federation.
“The LGA system has been made functional and I deeply commend the Chairman of Afikpo North LGA, Engr Timothy Nwachi, other chairmen from the Ebonyi south senatorial district and those across other districts of the state.
“The State Deputy Governor, Mrs Patricia Obila, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Odunwa, Minister of Works and Immediate Past Governor, Senator David Umahi, other former governors, members of the National Assembly from the state among others, should be commended for their contributions to the astronomical development of the state.
“It is the desire of the Ebonyi South in Diaspora group that the state continues on this momentum so that the people would truly savour all dividends accruable in a viable and thriving democracy.”
