Ebonyi health insurance beneficiaries endorse Nwifuru for second term

Thousands of Beneficiaries of the Ebonyi State Health Insurance Agency (EBSHIA) have endorsed Governor Francis Nwifuru for a second term in office.

The beneficiaries who marched from the Christain Ecumenical Centre to the Pa Ngele Oruta stadium Abakaliki, chanted solidarity songs and displayed placards which inscriptions highlighted Nwifuru’s achievements.

The elated beneficiaries echoed that the endorsement was based on the governor’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and expanding access to quality medical services across Ebonyi.

The Executive Secretary of EBSHIA, Dr Divine Igwe who led the march thanked Governor Nwifuru for his continued support EBSHIA and numerous health initiatives.

“The interventions have positively impacted positively on the lives of the people especially the vulnerable populations within and outside the state.

“Presently, over 137,000 people have benefited from the agency’s programmes, including patients treated for cataracts, glaucoma, and other health conditions.

“We re-affirm our commitment to achieve the agency’s Vision 2030 goals as the governor’s contributions to healthcare development, have saved many lives,”.

The Chairman of the EBSHIA Board, Mrs Ogechi Ogbaga commended the governor for using the agency to bring health care delivery to the people’s doorsteps, especially the less priviledged.

“The governor’s intervention has greatly strengthened the state’s healthcare system and this has re–inforced the people’s confidence in the system,”.

Mrs Victoria Okafor, A beneficiary of the health insurance scheme expressed gratitude over the free healthcare services provided through the scheme.

“People especially the less priviledged, can presently access surgeries, maternal healthcare, childbirth services, eye care among other medical interventions at no cost,”.

Mr Frank Nwuzor, Another Beneficiary, noted that the march was a veritable way to thank the governor for health insurance intervention which has worked wonders in the state’s health system.

“”People who hitherto could not access health services due to the dire economic situation. of the country, are presently accessing such with much ease,”.

Governor Francis Nwifuru who responded through the All Progressives Congress (APC) iChairman in Ebonyi, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, expressed satisfaction with EBSHIA’s achievements in the state’s health sector.

“This gathering is an evidence of a genuine and well-organised movement with strong grassroot backing.

“I accept this endorsement and assure residents that my administration would continue expanding the health insurance programme to benefit more people across the state,”.
