The Eternal Brothers Club, a prominent social organisation in Nigeria’s South-East, has unveiled its multi-million-naira ultra-modern headquarters in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, attracting attention over how its members completed the landmark project in less than 16 months.
The unveiling has sparked conversations about the club’s collective determination, financial commitment and leadership, with members drawing commendation for delivering the impressive facility through their contributions and shared vision.
The edifice, unveiled by Chief Emma Uguru, the member representing Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, reflects the club’s ambition to promote brotherhood, strengthen professional relationships and create opportunities for business and social interaction.
Members’ Contributions Drive Landmark Project
The luxurious facility features accommodation, conference halls, business facilities and relaxation spaces designed to serve the needs of members and their guests.
Members funded the project through their collective efforts, with the club’s leadership, under its President, Hon. Charles Akpu-Enika, popularly known as The Game Changer, providing the direction and coordination that drove its completion.
The contributions of the Board of Trustees, chaired by Hon. Richard Idiike, the Forum of Patrons and Patronesses, coordinated by Chief Dad Enigwe, and the entire membership also played significant roles in bringing the project to fruition.
Their commitment, the club noted, demonstrates the power of unity, cooperation and a shared determination to achieve ambitious goals within a relatively short period.
The unveiling ceremony followed the club’s second Health Awareness Walk, which promoted physical fitness and healthy living among members.

The new headquarters was subsequently consecrated during a Christian service conducted by Rev. Fr. Maximus Obododike.
Uguru Commends Club’s Leadership and Unity
Performing the unveiling, Chief Uguru praised the club’s leadership and members for their commitment, cooperation and collective efforts in delivering the project.
He described the headquarters as a significant milestone that demonstrates the importance of unity, visionary leadership and shared responsibility in achieving remarkable results.
Uguru urged the club to use the facility to contribute meaningfully to society, stressing that social organisations should extend their activities beyond recreation to include business development, mutual support and community advancement.
“You should use this milestone to impact meaningfully on society, as social clubs should operate beyond recreation but enhance business development, mutual support and societal advancement,” he said.
He also called on residents of Abakaliki’s urban communities to embrace peaceful coexistence, noting that collective progress depends on mutual respect, tolerance and a willingness to work towards the common good.
According to him, the achievement further reinforces his confidence in Akpu-Enika’s leadership, citing the club president’s experience in public and social service.
Uguru said Akpu-Enika had continued to demonstrate leadership qualities and the ability to deliver on responsibilities entrusted to him.
Lawmaker Rewards Members’ Spouses
The federal lawmaker also acknowledged the contributions of the members’ spouses, describing them as pillars of support whose encouragement helped the club achieve the landmark project.
As a gesture of appreciation, he donated ₦500,000 to the spouses during the ceremony.
The gesture highlighted the importance of family support in sustaining members’ commitments to the club’s activities and long-term development goals.
Akpu-Enika: Headquarters Reflects Brotherhood
Speaking at the event, the club’s President, Hon. Charles Akpu-Enika, described the unveiling as one of the proudest moments of his life.
The immediate past Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports in Ebonyi State expressed gratitude to members for their support, describing their contributions towards the project as extraordinary.
He said the headquarters reflected the club’s determination to strengthen brotherhood, deepen professional relationships and create an environment where members could pursue common interests.
Akpu-Enika also disclosed that the club looked forward to the formal commissioning of the facility by Governor Francis Nwifuru in December.
He expressed hope that the club’s ability to complete the project within a record period would inspire other social organisations to pursue ambitious projects through unity, discipline and collective responsibility.
Idiike Hails Club’s Vision and Health Walk
Hon. Richard Idiike, chairman of the club’s Board of Trustees and Ebonyi State Commissioner for Capital Territory Development, also commended the leadership and members for their achievement.
He said the project reflected the club’s strong sense of purpose and determination to accomplish goals that many might consider difficult to achieve.
Idiike also praised the second edition of the club’s Health Awareness Walk, which preceded the unveiling ceremony.
He noted that the exercise added to the event’s significance while demonstrating the members’ commitment to physical fitness, healthy living and personal well-being.
Stakeholders Promise Support for Club
Hon. Victor Nwoke, the member representing Abakaliki North Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly and a member of the club, said the organisation remained committed to achieving greater milestones.
He assured the leadership of continued support from stakeholders as the club pursued its development objectives.
Similarly, the Chairman of Abakaliki Local Government Area, Hon. Chidi Aloh, who also serves as the club’s vice-president, commended members for supporting the leadership in delivering the project.
Aloh urged those responsible for managing the facility to ensure its effective use and maintenance so that it could serve the club’s long-term needs.
He also described the Health Awareness Walk as evidence of the club’s commitment to keeping members physically active and promoting healthier lifestyles.
‘Our Light Will Continue to Shine’
Deacon Obinna Nwachukwu, a leader of the club and former chairman of Ishielu Local Government Area, expressed confidence that the organisation would continue to distinguish itself through ambitious projects and collective achievements.
He said the club had demonstrated a willingness to explore opportunities that other organisations might hesitate to pursue.
Nwachukwu added that the headquarters represented another step in the club’s determination to achieve milestones that would distinguish it from social organisations established before it.
The unveiling marks a significant chapter in the Eternal Brothers Club’s development, with its leadership and members now looking ahead to the formal commissioning of the facility and the opportunities it could create for social interaction, professional networking and business development.
