
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state has informed corps members that they are critical assets to the growth and development of state.
Fubara stated this at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai LGA during the swearing in ceremony of 2026 Batch C stream I Corps Members deployed to the state.
Fubara, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Promise Oguzie, said Rivers state looked up to the corps members to attain its developmental goals.
“I charge the top management of the scheme to continue evolving pragmatic reforms that will be relevant to the dynamics of today’s graduate youths.
“The managers of the scheme should expand the scope and operations of the flagship programmes that continue to make the scheme more impactful, relevant and acceptable to Nigerians.
“I advise corps members to repay Nigerians trust in them by playing the part of integrity, honesty, patriotism and fear of God when they serve as INEC ad hoc staff during the 2027 general election.”
In his welcome address, Mr Moses Oleghe, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State expressed conviction that the corps members are “physically, mentally, psychologically and emotionally” ready to serve the fatherland .
Oleghe said that the corps members are ever ready to make positive impact across the state.
“We thank Governor Siminalayi Fubara for approving the construction of a 1000-capacity hostel each for male and female corps members.

“We also thank him for constructing a new NYSC state secretariat and State Coordinator’s lodge for the scheme.
“We however express optimism that the contractors for the projects will soon be mobilised to site.”
The oath of allegiance administering on the 3, 414 corps members was conducted by Justice Frank Onyiri on behalf of the Chief Judge of Rivers State.
