Lagos, July 18, 2023 -The Price of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol or fuel, has increased to about N617 per litre across filling stations.

Daily Trust reports that a visit to an NNPC filling station in the Central area of Abuja confirmed that the fuel price has now been adjusted from N539 to N617 per litre.

Confirming the latest development, a customer who just got the fuel said: “It is true; I just bought at N617 per litre.”

The reason for this increase may not be unconnected to the recent projections by oil marketers that fuel prices will hit N700 per litre soon, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no comment yet from the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NDMPRA).
