A girl has died and a woman has been arrested after a car crashed into a girls’ prep school building in Wimbledon, south London, police confirmed.

The Metropolitan Police said a woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They earlier said seven children and two adults were injured during the collision, which is understood to have involved a Land Rover Defender 110.

The incident is not being treated as terror related.
