Nsukka, Nigeria – Ejike Eze, the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Enugu North Senatorial District in 2023 general elections, says President Bola Tinubu, having laid a good foundation and stabilised the economy, will be re-elected in the 2027 general elections.

Eze, a retired Career Diplomat and former Senior Special Assistant on Protocols and Security to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, said this in Nsukka on Friday while speaking with newsmen on the good performance of President Tinubu so far.

He said Tinubu’s administration, through its excellent programmes and policies, has laid a good foundation, stabilised the country’s economy for growth and national development.

“Everybody have now seen that all sectors of the economy have been stimulated and there is rapid economic growth in the country according to available economic indices

“Tinubu, having repositioned the economy for rapid growth, deserves to be re-elected in 2027 to enable him to continue his good works for the country

“For us in the APC and 99 per cent of Nigerians, it is 4+4 for Tinubu, as his numerous achievements have endeared him to Nigerians and this will give him victory in 2027,” he said.

According to Eze, the present administration was able to achieve this feat because of capable hands appointed by the president to head various ministries and agencies as well as Tinubu’s people-oriented policies and programmes.

The career diplomat commended the implementation of the Economic Stabilisation Programme by the Presidential Economic Coordination Council which focused on food, security, improved power supply, social welfare, and increased energy production among others.

“Recent reports have shown that prices of food items like rice have witnessed a significant drop across the country.

“The issue of long queues in filling stations and fuel scarcity in the country have become a thing of the past as filling stations now have fuel products daily.

“Nigerians have seen the benefit of fuel subsidy removal by this administration.

“Many Nigerians are now hailing the president for his wise and bold decision to remove fuel subsidy, a decision past administrations did not have the political will to take,” he said

The APC chieftain expressed satisfaction with Tinubu’s giant strides in infrastructure development and welfare of citizens and urged everybody in the country to continue to support the present administration to enable it to sustain and consolidate on achievements recorded so far.

Eze alleged that the economy was on the brink of collapse when Tinubu assumed office in 2023 and commended his ingenuity and resilience in revitalising the economy.

“It’s Mr President’s dedication to duty and wealth of experience that made it possible for all sectors of the economy to witness robust turnaround within his two years in office,” he said.

Eze said some of the laudable steps taken by Tinubu’s administration that stabilised the economy included “paying off the IMF loans, injecting the money saved from fuel subsidy removal into the economy to the benefit of all Nigerians, and many others.

“I commend the present administration for implementing critical reforms that have stabilised the economy and now make the country the destination point for both local and foreign investors,” Eze added.
