How gunmen attacked Police station, cart away arms in Enugu

Undisclosed number of gunmen were said to have attacked a police station in Enugu State in the South East part of Nigeria and carted away some arms.

Sources said the gunmen the incident occurred at the Divisional Police station in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State on Tuesday morning.

No life was lost in the attack but a police officer was said to have been shot and is currently receiving treatment at undisclosed hospital.

The sources claimed that the assailants had stormed the unfenced police station at about 2 am with a Toyota Sienna bus.

“They came through Eha-Amufu and left through the same axis but it’s not possible they got to Eha-Amufu township or crossed to Nkalagu, otherwise they would have been encountered by the soldiers in that area.

“It’s possible they went through Aguamede to Benue state,” the sources said.

The Police Public Command in the state is yet to cimment on the incident.
