How private jet with VIPs onboard crash-lands in Ibadan

A private jet, with 10 persons onboard, including Very Important Personalities (VIPs) crash-landed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to reports, the jet crash landed on Friday morning at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport.

The jet with registration number – N580KR, was said to have skidden off the runway into a nearby bush.

Following the development, firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) immediately got to the scene. No casualty was recorded.

“It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty,” a spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo, said over the phone.

Also, the spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, Tunji Oketunmbi, said he would revert but was yet to comment at press time.

In November, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, escaped death when a plane he was on board crash-landed at the same airport.
