As Nigeria moves closer to the 2027 elections, one truth must be made clear: inter-party politics is not anti-party politics.
Those deliberately confusing the two are either politically dishonest or afraid of what a united opposition can achieve.
At this critical time, the decision of the PDP to adopt or support an ADC presidential candidate is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of political maturity and urgency.
In 2015, the forces that now make up the APC came together from different political parties and interests. They built a coalition strong enough to unseat a sitting government.
So why should it suddenly become anti-party now?
The answer is simple: because those benefiting from a divided opposition understand that fragmentation is their greatest weapon.
The 2023 election exposed the danger of disunity. Opposition votes were split, ambitions clashed, and the ruling party capitalized on that division.
Nigeria cannot afford a repeat in 2027. This is not the time for political ego. This is the time for strategic alignment.
The objective must be bigger than party identity.
The objective is to provide Nigerians with a credible, united, and nationally acceptable alternative.
If the ADC platform offers the most viable ground for coalition and national rescue, then progressive forces across parties must rally around it without apology.
What matters is not who owns the ticket. What matters is who can save Nigeria from insecurity, hunger, unemployment, and democratic decline.
In 2027, Nigeria needs unity of purpose, not loyalty to symbols.
