Lagos, Jan. 27, 2023: Eredo Local Council Development Area in Epe Division of Lagos State has given free JAMB forms to 100 indigenes of the area.

Chairman of the Council, Mr Monsuru Akinloye, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Eredo-Epe, on Friday that the gesture was to support the educational advancement of indigent students.

“Some parents may not have the capacity to buy the form for their children; some may also have insufficient funds to continue to sponsor their children’s education.

“This is why the council decided to buy 100 JAMB forms for some indigenous students to support their parents.

“It will encourage beneficiaries to pursue their educational career and study harder to become future leaders,’’ he said.

Akinloye said beneficiaries were drawn from different localities that made up the council area.

He added that 50 male and 50 female students benefited from the gesture.

He said improving the education sector was part of his electioneering campaign promises and pledged to continue to give his constituents the best of educational support.

Akinloye also told NAN that as part of efforts to promote education, the council employed more than 50 teachers to impart knowledge in its schools.

“The council bought books and other educational materials for public schools to support teaching and learning.

“It also renovated some dilapidated buildings in some schools to create the enabling environment for teaching and learning,’’ the council chairman said.
