A popular businessman and ICT expert, Mr Abdulfattah Sambo, has declared intention to vie for the position of Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, in the yet to be fixed Local Government election in Kwara.

Sambo made the declaration in a Ilorin on Saturday according to a statement by the Director of his Campaign Organisation, Mr Abass Muritala.

Expressing determination to run under the banner of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Sambo said that his ambition was borne out of passion to enhance sustainable community development.

According to him, he is resolved to focus on improving infrastructure, creating job opportunities, and providing better services to the people of Ilorin West.

He said that the decision to run for office was motivated by his deep affection for his community and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of the people of Ilorin West.

“As a successful entrepreneur, Sambo understands the importance of creating an environment that fosters economic growth and development.

“I am committed to leveraging his experience to create more job opportunities for the people of Ilorin West,” he said.

Commending the efforts of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of Kwara, Samdo said that the governor’s determination at providing true governance for the state had increased the level of confidence and trust the people in the party.

The aspirant said that he recognised the reason for a local government administration that would complement the efforts of the governor at the grassroots.

Sambo said that he would be committed to providing basic amenities such as good roads, infrastructures, clean water among others.

The aspirant said that he had proven track record of success in business and entrepreneurship.

“I am confident that I can use these experiences to make a positive impact as the chairman of Ilorin West Local Government.

“I am committed to transparency, accountability, and working closely with the people of Ilorin West to identify their needs and address them,” he added.

Sambo urged the people of Ilorin West to support his candidacy and join him in his mission to build a better community.

“Together, we can create a brighter future for Ilorin West and all its residents,” he said.

There are strong indications that the Kwara State government may soon conduct local government elections in the 16 local councils of the state.

This followed the submission of seven nominees for the board of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, KWSIEC, by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the State House of Assembly recently.

According to the re-elected governor, “Having now cleared all legal logjams on its way, the process for the conduct of the local government election has begun.”
