“My administration determined to lift youths out from poverty” – Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has reiterated that lifting youths out from poverty remains a key policy of his administration.

Fubara made the commitment on Friday at the NYSC permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai, during the swearing in ceremony of 2025 Batch C Corps Members deployed to Rivers State.

Fubara, represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman, NYSC State Governing Board, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, further assured corps members that his administration is committed to make youths economically viable.

“My administration is unwavering to mould youths into stand-out leaders of tomorrow.

“I advise corps members to make the best use of the NYSC skills acquisition training programme to become self-reliant.

“This is in doing so, will boost the nation’s economic resurgence.”

The State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe, in his welcome address, charged the corps members to see the “service year as more than just a year of experience.

“They should see it as a time to be committed in laying strong foundation for a more united and greater nation.”

A total of 2,614 corps members, made up of 1,083 males and 1,531 females, swore to the oath of allegiance.

The oath was administered by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi, who was represented by Hon. Justice Comfort Ifiekmotu-Awaji Adangor.
