The Member representing Ezza North/ Ishielu Federal Constituency of Ebonyi at the House of Representatives, Chief Joseph Nwobashi says that voters were adequately mobilised in his area for last Saturday’s Ebonyi council polls.

Nwobashi who is seeking a second term in the 2027 general elections under the All Progressives Congress (APC) said the mobilisation ensured the seamless electoral process witnessed in the area.

The former State House of Assembly Member said there was no voting apathy in his area because the electorate were adequately sensitised on the need to exercise their voting franchise.

“People came out in numbers to vote for candidates of their choices and this ensured a free, and fair process.

“Officials of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) duly recorded and collated results which enhanced transparency.

“There was no security challenge as the electorate was duly enlightened on the need to freely and peacefully exercise their franchise,,”.

He noted that such mobilisation would be intensified as campaigns for the general elections kick–off.

“The opposition will also mobilise to vote for their candidates and this will heighten electoral activities.

“The people would come out on election days to vote for candidates of their choices and this will deepen democracy at all levels,”.

Nwoabashi congratulated the APC for its resounding victory at the polls, noting that it was a testament of its unity of purpose and acceptance by the people.

“I commend Governor Francis Nwufuru for his ebullient leadership which has made the party acceptable and indomitable in the state.

“We should however consolidate on this feat to ensure success in the general elections,”.
