The Collective Movement (TCM), a socio-political group says the persistent, systemic collapse of Nigeria’s national electricity grid has moved beyond a technical glitch.
Chief Franklin Ekechukwu, founder of TCM in a statement on Wednesday, said it is now a glaring symbol of the Tinubu administration’s failure to deliver on its most basic developmental mandates.
He added that while the administration offers excuses, the nation offers its silence—the silence of dead factories, dark hospitals, and quiet classrooms.
According to Ekechukwu, despite billions in purported investments, the “Renewed Hope” agenda has left Nigerians in a state of renewed darkness.
“This is no longer a “teething problem” it is a chronic inability to manage the lifeblood of a modern economy.
“President Bola Tinubu once set his own benchmark: “Don’t vote me for a second term if I fail to deliver steady electricity.”
“Today, as the grid hits zero megawatts with alarming frequency, that benchmark has become an indictment,” the TCM founder stressed.
Ekechukwu, however, added that with 2027 on the horizon, the choice for Nigerians is becoming clear.
“We cannot fuel a 21st-century nation with 19th-century reliability. Nigeria cannot compete in the global market by candlelight. The time for promises has expired; the time for accountability is here.”
