The Forward Operating Base (FOB) of Nigerian Navy on Monday handed over 106 parcels of suspected cannabis sativa to National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Badagry.
The Commanding Officer, Navy Capt.SM Kabir disclosed this in a statement in Badagry, Lagos.
According to him, the Nigerian Navy FOB, Badagry on Monday, Sept.7, 2026, handed over 106 parcels of suspected Cannabis Sativa to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
“The items were recovered by own personnel deployed at Naval Outpost Tongeji during a targeted operation in the Badagry-Porto Novo Creeks.
“The operation followed credible human intelligence on suspected illicit drug activities within the area.
“During the operation, the Base personnel recovered 106 parcels of suspected Cannabis Sativa.
“No arrest was made as the suspected traffickers fled upon sighting the patrol team,” he said.
Kabir said that the recovered items had been handed over to representatives of NDLEA for further necessary action in accordance with extant procedures.
“The Nigerian Navy remains committed to combating illicit drug trafficking and other criminal activities within the maritime environment.
“Forward Operating Base Badagry will continue to collaborate with the NDLEA and other relevant security agencies to maintain a safe and secure maritime environment.
“The public is encouraged to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies through appropriate channels,” he said.
