
Gov. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has received a second tenure endorsement from stakeholders of Onicha Local Government Area (LGA) which has a critical voting dorminance.
Onicha was one of the LGAs Nwifuru lost during the 2023 general elections but he has galvanised massive support in the area since then.
The stakeholders of Onicha LGA in a meeting on Monday in Abakaliki, noted that the endorsement of the governor was total as he has shown them unbridled love despite the 2023 hiccup.
The Chairman of Onicha LGA, Chief Ikechukwu Ogbuoffia said the meeting was to review and appreciate the governor’s benevolence on the people and forge a unified political direction in his favour ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ogbuofia said that having assessed the governor’s performances, the people collectively resolved to support his re-election having delivered immeasurable dividends of democracy across its communities.
“The extensive road network, improved educational infrastructure, appointment of ts people in critical positions, human empowerment among others, are clear indicators of Nwifuru’s purposeful leadership.

“The governor has brought endearing peace to the area and other parts of the state and the people can not wish for a better leadership.”
A Former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning in the state, Chief Timothy Odah, said the governor has strengthened security in the area while executing key rural projects such as electrification, road construction, water supply among others.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Women Mobilisation, Mrs Veronica Ikele, commended Nwifuru’s strides in agriculture which has made the venture lucrative especially to the youths.
The State Commissioner for Inter-Party Affairs, Chief Philip Okorie, hailed the governor’s multi-sectoral approach to development, noting that it has set the state on the right path.
“The governor’s policies have significantly reduced incidences of political violence, kidnapping and communal conflicts, thereby strengthening social cohesion.
The Former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Chief Donatus Njoku said the the quest for the governor’s continuation in office was both justified and necessary.
“Onicha people would massively vote for the governor as this is the time to reward him for all the good things he has done for the people and entire state.”
Institutional backing also came to the governor’s re-election bid from the 12 councillors of the LGA, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership, youth organisations among others.
The motion for the governor’s endorsement for re-election was moved by Mr Celestine Ogba (APC–Onicha East) and seconded by Mr Charles Onu (APC–Onicha West).
