NOC congratulates Falcon for incredible performance in Women World Cup

Lagos, Aug.8, 2023: The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has congratulated, Nigeria’s National senior female team, the Falcon for its incredible performance in the FIFA Women’s World Cup soccer. 

NOC, in a press statement by Tony Nezianya,  the Public Relations Officer (PRO) acknowledged the impressive performance of the team in the recent competition.

“Making it to the last 16 is no small achievement, and you should be immensely proud of yourselves.

“Although the match against England didn’t end as desired, the fact that you pushed them to penalty kicks after full and extra time without conceding a goal speaks volumes about your talent and determination. 

“You showcased your skills and proved that you are a force to be reckoned with on the international stage.

“Please remember that reaching this stage is a remarkable accomplishment, and it bodes well for your future endeavours,” he said. 

The NOC spokesperson said the team’s hard work, dedication, and teamwork, undoubtedly brought them this far, adding “there is no doubt that you will continue to succeed in the future.

“Keep your heads held high, for the Falcons have secured pride of place in the hearts of many. 

“Your journey may have ended for now, but your achievements will serve as an inspiration for the upcoming years.

“Once again, congratulations on a fantastic performance, and best of luck for your future endeavours on the field. We are all eagerly awaiting your next triumphs.”
