Lagos, June 13, 2024 – Nollywood producer Okonkwo Chijioke Junior is calling on industry professionals to prioritize children’s content in their productions.

With a prolific career boasting over one hundred films, Chijioke stressed that the pursuit of financial success often leads producers to overlook fundamental values and long-term consequences.

Chijioke advocates for a focus on children to ensure sustainability in filmmaking.

“Neglecting the ripple effects of our actions could have future repercussions,” he warned.

Having dedicated much of his career to child-sensitive content, he underscored its importance despite the challenges, stating, “It’s worth it. You feel you are making the world a better place.”

As the founder of Bold Line Entertainment and manager of teen star Uchechi Treasure Okonkwo, known as Adakirikiri, Chijioke questioned whether the future being built is safe for children.

He highlighted the competition between adults and children, stressing that this should be a primary discussion during the 2024 Children’s Day celebration.

“Some live for the moment without regard for the future, but that is crucial to me,” Chijioke said.

He criticized the industry’s preoccupation with topics like body enhancement and overnight wealth, which trend daily.

“Who will teach kids about investment, patriotism, and real-life issues? Someone needs to start telling them the truth.”

Chijioke urged his colleagues to recognize their responsibility in creating a safe future for children.

“Even if we don’t have children, someone we know does. An injury to one is an injury to all,” he stressed.

Known as Cjay, Okonkwo Chijioke Junior began his career in the entertainment industry as a music producer.

He has produced and executive produced notable films like Before My Eyes, Identical Difference, and Clare and Clarissa. He remains dedicated to promoting content that positively impacts the younger generation.
