NPMCN to invest Prof. Anthony Ikefuna as 24th President

The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria has announced the investiture ceremony of Prof. Anthony Nnaemeka Ikefuna as its 24th President.

Ikefuna was elected at the College’s 137th Governing Board Meeting on Dec. 5, 2025.

His investiture ceremony is scheduled for March 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the College premises.

A graduate of the University of Ibadan, Ikefuna completed his medical training on a Federal Government scholarship.

He later specialised in Paediatrics at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu.

He rose to become Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2011.
Within the College, he previously served as Vice President and Chief Examiner, Faculty of Paediatrics.

He also chaired the Quality Assurance, Disciplinary, and Senate Committee on Credentials and Fellowship Award.

Ikefuna has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and supervised more than 70 Fellowship dissertations.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Nigerian Academy of Medicine.

The College congratulated Ikefuna and wished him a successful tenure.
