There is so much jubilation in the air as well wishers, colleagues and loved ones continue dole out congratulatory calls and messages to Mr Adeleye Ajayi, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos State Council for wearing two powerful caps in less than 24 hours.

Ajayi has also emerged the Head of NAN Lagos office as a result of his professionalism.

The news is not surprising to us and many others because Ajayi has distinguished himself as a versatile and hardworking personality.

He is a man who has paid his dues in journalism with top notch international exposure.

The former President of the Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has a track record of success, which he extended to Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, where he is doing Lagos Journalists proud.

No doubt, interesting times await staff members of NAN Lagos, as the man at the helm of affairs is a thorough bred professional, who will go any length to get the job done.

We are equally hopeful that the experience he has gathered over the years, laced with his exposure and contacts, will further make NAN the envy of others, under a visionary leader that prioritises staff welfare.

We have no reservation about his emergence, while wishing him a successful tenure of office.

Secretary
